EFT The Emotional Freedom Technique
WHAT IS EFT?
EFT for children
EFT for teenagers
EFT for Parents
EFT for adults
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), often known as “tapping,” is a gentle therapeutic approach that combines elements of psychology with acupressure. By tapping on specific points on the body while focusing on thoughts, emotions, or physical sensations, EFT helps regulate the nervous system and release emotional stress.
This process supports the body’s natural ability to restore balance and may help reduce emotional intensity, improve clarity, and promote a greater sense of calm and emotional wellbeing
How Does EFT Work?
EFT works through the connection between the mind, emotions, and the body. When we experience stress, trauma, or overwhelming feelings, the nervous system can remain in a heightened state of activation.
Through guided tapping and focused awareness, EFT may support:
- calming the stress response
- processing difficult emotions
- shifting limiting beliefs and behavioral patterns
- releasing emotional tension stored in the body
- strengthening emotional resilience
Many people experience a sense of relief, clarity, or emotional lightness during or after sessions. Even for just a few minutes of tapping.
How Tapping Supports Emotional Change
Tapping combines gentle stimulation of acupressure points with mindful attention to emotional experiences. This process helps the nervous system move into a calmer state.
When difficult memories or emotions are approached while the body feels safer and more relaxed, the brain has the opportunity to update how it responds. Over time, emotional intensity may decrease and new patterns of calm and resilience can develop.
Rather than offering only temporary relief, EFT can support lasting emotional and psychological shifts.
Once you learn the tapping process, you can continue to practice EFT independently, using it as a supportive self-regulation tool in everyday life. Many people find that regular self-practice helps maintain emotional balance and wellbeing.
What Can EFT Support?
EFT may support emotional and stress-related aspects of:
- stress and anxiety
- low mood or depressive states
- chronic pain and tension linked to emotional stress
- sleep difficulties
- attention and focus challenges (including ADHD-related stress)
- post-traumatic stress responses (PTSD)
- fears and phobias
- panic and overwhelm
- obsessive or repetitive thought patterns (OCD-related distress)
- addictive behaviors and emotional triggers
- weight management challenges and food cravings
EFT can also support personal growth, emotional resilience, and overall wellbeing.
EFT for Children and Teenagers
Children and young people today often face emotional pressures that go beyond academic learning. Anxiety, social challenges, performance expectations, family situations, and exposure to stress can deeply influence their wellbeing.
When children are supported in developing emotional awareness and regulation, they are better able to focus, build healthy relationships, and develop confidence.
EFT offers a gentle and accessible approach that helps young people:
- manage anxiety and school stress (peer pressure)
- regulate strong emotions
- build emotional resilience
- improve confidence and self-esteem
- feel safer and more grounded in themselves
I am deeply committed to supporting children and adolescents in developing lifelong emotional skills in a safe and compassionate environment.
For Parents
As a parent, it can be difficult to know how to support your child when they are experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or behavioral challenges.
EFT provides a calm and supportive process that helps children express emotions safely, regulate their nervous system, and develop practical tools they can continue to use independently as they grow.
Sessions are adapted to each child’s developmental stage and emotional needs. I can support parents with appropriate guidance, helping create continuity practice with the their child between sessions and daily life.
Who Can Benefit from EFT?
I offer EFT sessions for children, teenagers, and adults, tailoring each session to the individual’s emotional needs and personal goals.
Sessions are available in person or online, allowing you to receive support in a way that feels comfortable and accessible.
EFT can be used as a stand-alone therapeutic approach or integrated into hypnotherapy sessions, when appropriate, to support deeper emotional work.
For clients who resonate with a more expanded or spiritual framework, I also facilitate Quantum EFT, combining tapping with deeper states of awareness.
